Farringdon has 2 rs, last time I checked. Faringdon makes me think of baked goods. Faringdon is a town in Oxfordshire. "Farringdon" always looked wrong to me until I moved to London; now it's the other way around. They obviously have a different definition of 'public convenience' if the loos in Euston and the British museum don't count...
